What are the prices for thyme essential oils?
The average price of thyme essential oil is €500/kg but depends on the chemotype, growing method, botanical rarity and essential oil yield.
Certain varieties such as thujanol thyme or linalool thyme require more precise growing and distillation conditions, which affects their price.
We offer volume discounts for professionals, with volumes available from 10 kg to 1,000 kg and beyond on request.
What varieties of thyme essential oil are available?
To meet the specific needs of each professional client, our distillery has developed a wide range of thyme essential oils, each with its own aromatic profile, therapeutic properties and specific applications:
Thujanol thyme
Highly appreciated for its gentle, balanced and versatile properties.
Linalool thyme
Rich in linalool, particularly suited to skincare and cosmetic formulations.
Thymol thyme
Powerful, highly aromatic, used for its cleansing properties.
Para-cymene thyme
Specific aromatic profile, often sought in aromatherapy.
Alpha-terpineol thyme
Rarer variety with subtle aromatic notes.
Geraniol thyme
Appreciated for its fragrance and balancing properties.
Lemon thyme
With fresh citrusy notes, widely used in natural cosmetics and perfumery.
What is the difference with imported thymes (e.g. Spain, Eastern Europe)?
French thyme is produced according to strict agricultural standards, with complete traceability, systematic chromatographic analyses and demanding regulatory oversight.
Thanks to French distillation expertise, the terroirs, constant sunshine and varied altitudes, our thyme essential oils are more stable and aromatically finer, perfectly suited to demanding professional supply chains.
What quality guarantees do you provide?
For each batch, you benefit from:
- Complete chromatographic analyses (GC)
- Traceability: botanical name, chemotype, origin, plot, growing method
- Essential oils 100% pure, natural and chemotyped
- Organic certifications (and some compliant with the COSMOS standard)
For certain specific needs, we also offer thyme from conventional agriculture — quote on request.
How is thyme essential oil produced?
Thyme is grown in France, mainly in the south, in the Drôme, Isère and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, following the principles of organic farming or reasoned cultivation without pesticides.
Harvest takes place when the plant is at its aromatic peak.
The flowering tops are then distilled promptly in our distillery or directly on-site using our mobile distillery.
The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation, without solvent or chemical pressure, guaranteeing a pure, natural, rich and stable essential oil.
